Compare and contrast Ralph's original tribe with Jack's new tribe.Consider the way that they conduct themselves, their priorities, and any other important things about them.
Ralph's tribe tends to be a little bit better then jack's tribe because they have the high chance of getting of the island altogether, whereas Jack's does not. Though Jack's tribe does have all the Biguns, and they are more successful, Ralph's tribe is more of an optimistic scavenger type, which keeps morale high. With morale high, they keep their head up. There are advantages to Jack's tribe in the short-term sense, but Ralph has the long-term upper hand.
While Jack and Ralph have different ways of leading their tribes, there are some similarities between the two tribes. For example, Ralph's tribe, specifically Ralph, feels that the most important thing on the island is rescue and the keeping of the fire, while Jack and his tribe only want to hunt and be master survivalists. Ralph's tribe tries to maintain order by using rules and assemblies. Jack and his tribe, on the other hand, feel a need for torture, murdering, hunting, and a truly tribal lifestyle. Ralph describes them at one point like this, "Boys hidden by masks of black and green." Ralph keeps his tribe on the beach while Jack brings his boys to Caslte Rock.
The similarities in the two tribes is that they both have priority in one thing or another. Jack's tribe's priority is to have meat and hunt and have fire to cook the meat. Ralph's Tribe also has a priority, but it is different. They have the priority of keeping the fire going, and being rescued. When it comes to location, it is completely different. Ralph has his tribe on the beach, but Jack has his tribe on Castle Rock. Jack's Tribe also has spears and they hunt and murder in brutal ways. Ralph's tribe, on the other hand, has no weopons and they eat fruit rather than meat. Plus, their leadership is different. Jack tends to not care for rules and live in an uncivilized way, but Ralph wants rules and order so that they can all be calm and un-savage like when they are, hopefully, reascued.
